Play R-Type Complete CD Online

Summary

R-Type Complete CD takes the classic side‑scroll shooter and spruces it up with a fresh soundtrack that re‑imagines the original tunes. The game’s cut scenes are now fully voiced, giving the alien‑fighting narrative a surprisingly cinematic feel for a TurboGrafx‑CD title. An extra boss battle has been slipped into the later stages, offering a new challenge that feels both familiar and unexpected. Beyond these headline changes, the port from the PC Engine/Turbografx‑16 sees a handful of subtle tweaks—tweaked enemy patterns and refined hit‑boxes—that polish the experience without altering the core gameplay. All of this makes the Complete CD version feel like a lovingly updated tribute rather than a simple re‑release.
