Summary

Fatal Fury Special (known in Japan as Garō Densetsu Special) builds on the foundation of its predecessor with a noticeable boost in speed and a fresh combo system that lets attacks flow together while granting a brief invincibility window after each hit. The mechanics feel tighter, and the added Low Line Jump Attack gives the two‑line arena a new tactical edge.

The roster swells to fifteen fighters: all eight regulars from Fatal Fury 2, the four former boss characters now fully playable, and three veterans from the original Fatal Fury. A hidden showdown with Ryo Sakazaki caps the single‑player run, a crossover cameo that later inspired SNK’s King of Fighters series.

Beyond the arcade, the title migrated to home consoles and later to modern platforms, keeping its crisp graphics and balanced gameplay alive for new generations of fighting‑game fans.
