Summary

Sinistron, known as Violent Soldier in Japan, stands out on the TurboGrafx‑16 thanks to its uniquely adjustable armored jaws. Opening the ship’s invincible jaws widens the shot spread, while closing them concentrates fire for higher damage, and upgrades let you toggle between a tight three‑shot burst and a wide five‑shot spray. The charge‑up attack adds a radial wave that ripples outward, clearing anything that gets too close.

The game offers five distinct power‑ups: a Vulcan flame cannon, a crystal‑pulse laser, CHAOS homing missiles, speed boosts, and plasma droids. Those droids act like invincible side‑kicks, soaking up enemy fire and even damaging foes on contact. Collecting weapon upgrades expands the jaw settings, giving you more tactical flexibility as the action ramps up.

Sinistron’s six stages climb quickly in difficulty, culminating in two surreal levels set inside the titular creature itself—the Organs and Cerebral Cortex stages. Each environment pushes the jaw‑mechanic and droid support to their limits, delivering a frantic, ever‑evolving shoot‑‘em‑up experience.
