Summary

Strap into the red turbo‑charged beast of Victory Run and feel the rush of night‑time Paris streets, winding countryside curves, and the scorching Sahara dunes. The game throws you into the legendary Paris‑Dakar rally, demanding split‑second reactions and a feel for how each terrain tests your machine.

What set Victory Run apart back in ’87 was its wear‑and‑tear system: every acceleration, brake and jump chips away at the car’s components. You can stock up to twenty spare parts before the first start, but once the race begins the garage doors close and you must manage what you have, swapping out the right piece at the right moment.

Critics were split – Computer and Video Games gave it solid 80‑plus scores, while Eurogamer was far harsher with a 1/5. Overall it landed around the mid‑60s on most review scales, earning a modest cult following among TurboGrafx‑16 fans.
