Summary

Soldier Blade Special – the Caravan‑only edition of the TurboGrafx‑16 shooter – was a tiny‑run HuCard created for Hudson’s 1992 Caravan tournament. It strips the full game down to just two time‑attack challenges, a 2‑minute sprint and a 5‑minute endurance run, letting players battle for the fastest score.

Because it was never sold commercially, only a handful of copies ever left the factory, and today the card fetches steep prices on auction sites. It also marks a quiet milestone: Soldier Blade was the final Star Soldier title to appear in Hudson’s long‑running Caravan Festival, closing out an era of competitive console events.

While other “Special Versions” like Gunhed and Final Soldier were also produced, the Soldier Blade Special is the most frequently encountered of these ultra‑rare releases, though it remains a collector’s dream.
