Summary
Lady Sword, sometimes called "Lady Sword: The 10 Captive Maidens," is an unlicensed adult RPG for the TurboGrafx‑16 that feels like a cross between Dungeon Master and the early Might and Magic titles. The game drops you into a first‑person dungeon crawl where every floor of the Tower of Faunus is guarded by elemental spirits that must be dispatched before you can ascend. Unlike most RPGs, there’s no visible level‑up screen and you only know you’re getting stronger by intuition; healing comes solely from resting, which is risky because the Dream Flayer can ambush you while you sleep.
A handful of quirky items give the experience a unique flavor: the Faun Fresco reveals the maze’s layout, the Beezleboule spots fake walls, and the Tachyo‑Stone lets you set a waypoint that the Polytron can teleport you back to. Random NPCs pepper the early stages with tips, and each cleared floor rewards you with a nude illustration of a rescued maiden, which is the sole eroge element.
Storyline
In Lady Sword, a mysterious swordsman named Kenshi ventures into the cursed Tower of Faunus in search of the powerful weapon known as the Lady Sword and a young lady imprisoned by the tower’s monsters. Along the way he discovers that ten maidens have also been kidnapped and are trapped within the labyrinth, their slain souls reaching out telepathically to guide him. Kenshi is not alone; a white wizard called Weintein and another swordsman, Palermo, lend their aid as he battles the monstrous inhabitants.
The game’s premise centers on an unnamed swordsman delving deep into the cursed labyrinth to rescue the abducted women from their monstrous captors, weaving together the rescue of the missing lady, the retrieval of the legendary sword, and the liberation of the ten maidens.
