Summary

Kore ga Pro Yakuyuu '89, often shortened to "This is Professional Baseball '89," brings the 1989 Nippon Professional Baseball lineup straight to the TurboGrafx‑16. The roster is impressively authentic, letting you control all twelve real Japanese clubs that competed that season. Gameplay sticks to the classic formula of its era: you pitch and bat from a behind‑the‑batter angle, then switch to a top‑down view for fielding, which feels surprisingly smooth for a 1980s console. The graphics are crisp enough to distinguish each team’s colors and logos, a nice touch for fans who appreciate those little details. Even without modern stats, the game captures the spirit of Japanese baseball in a way that still feels fresh for retro enthusiasts.
