Summary
Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu on the TurboGrafx‑16 feels like a quirky mash‑up of platforming and arcade‑style scoring. The game rewards you for hunting down the little frogs that hop around the stages – hit them and they drop rice bowls or power‑ups, but you can only carry one at a time. Green orbs litter the ground after most enemies fall, and collecting thirty of them instantly refills your health and restores your limited five‑shot beam attack. Bonus stages are hidden behind bells; once triggered you get a frantic 30‑second sprint across clouds and statues, racking up points that can be spent on extra lives or special attacks. Though the Japanese PC‑Engine launch came on January 18 1991, the title earned modest praise from Famitsu, hovering around the mid‑70s out of 100.
