Summary

Fushigi no Yume no Alice is a quirky platformer that channels the surreal charm of Lewis Carroll’s classic tale. Developed by FACE for the TurboGrafx‑16, the game swaps the familiar rabbit hole for a series of vivid, dream‑like stages that feel both nostalgic and fresh. Each level is peppered with whimsical enemies and puzzles that echo the oddball logic of Wonderland, yet the controls stay tight enough to keep the action flowing. I’m always struck by how the pixel art captures the story’s eccentric atmosphere without relying on heavy exposition. It’s a hidden gem that rewards anyone who enjoys a blend of retro challenge and literary flair.

Storyline

Fushigi no Yume no Alice is a cute 2‑D platformer inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland novels. Players control Alice, a blond‑haired girl in a pink dress, as she explores forests and caves. Enemies are dispatched either by jumping on their heads or by shouting “IYA.”

Certain foes drop explosive eggs, which Alice can kick and use as weapons against other enemies. Each area contains three levels, and every level concludes with a boss battle.
