Summary

Dead Moon drops you into the eerie aftermath of a massive comet‑turned‑alien mothership that slammed into the moon of Alpha 27. The game’s horizontal scrolling shooter action feels like a love letter to classics such as Gradius and Darius, but it adds its own twist: every power‑up you collect not only boosts your firepower but also acts as a one‑time shield, and stacking three of the same upgrade grants a screen‑clearing bomb. Damage is unforgiving—each hit strips away a power‑up level, forcing you to balance aggression with careful maneuvering. After you blaze through all six stages, a hidden hard mode flips the challenge, making enemies twice as resilient and demanding flawless control. The title resurfaced on the Wii Virtual Console in 2007, giving a new generation a chance to experience its nightmarish moon‑world aesthetic and tight, retro‑style gameplay.
