Summary
Break In is a surprisingly deep pool simulator that packs six different billiard variations—9 Ball, Rotation, Carom and three others—into a single cartridge. The game lets you choose between Simulation, Action, and Technique modes, each tweaking the physics and difficulty to suit casual play or a more exacting practice session. While the original TurboGrafx‑16 version allowed up to four friends to line up at the table, the later Virtual Console ports expanded the roster to six players, making it a decent party pick for a quick match. It first appeared only in Japan in 1989, but a 2008 Wii Virtual Console release finally gave English‑speaking fans a chance to try it, followed by a Wii U re‑release. Critics were mixed: IGN gave it 5.5/10, pointing out the broken English and very simple graphics, whereas VC‑Reviews awarded 3 out of 5 stars, praising the breadth of pool games for short‑term enjoyment.
