Summary

The SNES edition of Yoshi's Cookie upgrades the original’s simple look with a splash of richer colors, making each cookie‑filled grid feel surprisingly vibrant. Yoshi himself gets a visual makeover too, swapping his NES silhouette for the rounder design that later appeared on Yoshi’s Island, which adds a nostalgic yet fresh vibe. Beyond the visual polish, the game keeps the familiar Action and VS modes where you rotate rows and columns to line up matching cookies, but it also introduces a brand‑new Puzzle mode packed with 100 handcrafted challenges that must be solved in a set number of moves. Those puzzles were actually designed by Alexey Pajitnov, the mind behind Tetris, giving the mode an extra layer of credibility. A quirky footnote: a limited‑run Super Famicom version called Yoshi no Cookie: Kuruppon Oven de Cookie was bundled with a microwave oven, with only 500 copies ever made.
