Summary

The Tick lands on the SNES as a side‑scrolling beat ’em up that tries to capture the comic’s off‑kilter humor. When enemies pop up, the camera shifts into a semi‑isometric angle reminiscent of Streets of Rage, letting you swing your massive 7‑foot, 400‑pound frame at ninjas, hoods and clowns across 44 wobble‑filled stages. The game peppers the action with the Tick’s trademark "Spoon!" battle cry and goofy gestures, but the novelty quickly fades as the same handful of foes recycle over and over. Reviewers noted a sluggish frame rate and a limited move set that made the combat feel repetitive and, frankly, boring. Even though the title nails the comic’s visual style, the endless wave of identical enemies and irritating sound effects keep the experience from living up to the Tick’s larger‑than‑life reputation.
