Summary

Thunderbirds – Kokusai Kyuujotai Shutsudou seyo! (often just called Thunderbirds) is a fast‑paced SNES action title that feels like a hidden gem from the early ’90s. I’m struck by how Nova Games Ltd. managed to pack tight, responsive controls and bright, sprite‑heavy visuals into a cartridge that never made it far outside Japan. The Cobra Team’s publishing stamp adds a quirky, almost indie flair that sets it apart from the more polished contemporaries. Even without a deep storyline explanation, the game’s level design pushes you to master each mission’s timing and reflexes. It’s the kind of retro challenge that makes you appreciate the era’s experimental spirit.
