Summary

Thunder Spirits is a SNES port of the arcade‑only Thunder Force AC, itself a reworked version of Thunder Force III. The arcade original swapped the series’ classic top‑down levels for fresh side‑scrolling stages and gave the visuals a polish that carries over to the console version. You pilot a lone starfighter through eight enemy‑filled zones scattered across deep space, each demanding precise dodging and firepower.

The game introduces a health bar—a departure from the series’ usual one‑hit deaths—and lets you collect power‑up weapons that can be swapped on the fly, letting you adapt to any Orn empire threat at a moment’s notice. The combination of revamped graphics, side‑scroll action, and on‑the‑run weapon switching makes Thunder Spirits a distinctive entry in the Thunder Force lineage.
