Storyline

In Tecmo Secret of the Stars (often just called Secret of the Stars), the teenage protagonist Ray begins his quest alone on a tiny island, determined to find and destroy the malevolent power Homncruse that threatens the world. Along the way he gathers fellow Aqutallion warriors—Tina, Cody, Leona and Dan—and even establishes a town for those victimized by Homncruse’s darkness.

All the teens start as Pennon, the lowest warrior rank, and must each undergo a trial in their own hidden temple to earn the secondary powers of Banalet. Dan is an exception, being a descendant of the Prosperous Wise Man clan, and his lineage helps unite the group’s newfound abilities, rebirthing Aqutallion with incredible strength.

The story also introduces eleven Kustera members who can be recruited temporarily to fight in the heroes’ stead. From the same temples where the Aqutallions gain Banalet status, a Kustera‑only warp icon leads to dungeons packed with valuable treasures, making the Kustera’s role vital to the adventure’s progression.
