Summary
Tarot Mystery is a Super Famicom title that turns the classic Rider–Waite tarot deck into an interactive divination simulator, and it never saw an official release outside Japan. Players type a question in Japanese, then watch as twelve cards are dealt in the traditional Celtic‑cross spread, each slot representing a specific facet of the querent’s life—current situation, subconscious, past problems, and so on. The game automatically generates on‑screen text that interprets each card’s meaning, giving a complete past‑present‑future narrative without any manual reading required. It also marks the final Super Famicom project for composer Yasuaki Fujita, whose music caps off his console career. Upon launch, Famicom Tsūshin gave the quirky simulation a modest 20 out of 40 score.
