Summary

Aguri Suzuki F-1 Super Driving—known in North America as Redline F-1 Racer—lets you step into the cockpit of a 1992‑era Formula One car and chase the FIA World Drivers’ and Constructors’ titles. You start on Footwork, Suzuki’s old team, but can switch to pastiches of McLaren, Ferrari, Williams, Benetton or Jordan, each sporting liveries from the early ’90s. The game offers a quick single‑race option or a full season where every result carries over to the next year, so a bad weekend can haunt you until the next championship.

Customization is surprisingly deep for a console racer: you can tweak suspension, wings, brakes and even choose the right tires for rain or shine, because the weather will bite if you’re mismatched. Aguri himself appears as the most skilled driver, a handy benchmark when you’re fine‑tuning your setup.

Visually, the SNES version leans on Mode 7 tricks that feel like a cross between Super Mario Kart’s rolling tracks and the sleek feel of F‑Zero, yet the sprite work still carries a nostalgic 8‑bit charm. The result is a racing sim that feels both arcade‑friendly and oddly meticulous for its time.
