Summary

Super Strike Eagle drops you into the cockpit of an F‑15, tasked with nudging rogue regimes back into the United Nations. You can switch between a first‑person view that feels like a real fighter jet and a third‑person perspective that lets you see the whole battlefield.
The game throws a mix of air, land and water targets at you – from enemy MiG‑29s and ships to nuclear power plants, chemical‑weapon factories and terrorist camps. Getting too close to a nuked plant can give you radiation sickness, which you must cure with one of your limited sorties or risk a fatal end.
Fuel is your only timer, and you only have one plane; a crash means game over and a summary of reclaimed nations appears. Hitting optional targets boosts your score, and taking out airfields cuts off enemy fighter reinforcements.
Missions are unlocked via passwords after a practice round, and each theater splits into a daytime intro and a night‑time finale that ramps up difficulty. All weapons share the same explosion graphic, a quirky visual quirk noted by fans.
Nintendo Power gave it a 3.45/5 and Electronic Gaming Monthly scored it 65%, reflecting its mixed but memorable reception.

Storyline

Super Strike Eagle puts you in the cockpit of a United Nations pilot whose sole mission is to coax wayward nations back into cooperation. After each successful campaign against a rogue regime—Libya, Iraq, Cuba or North Korea—their flag is hoisted again at the UN Headquarters in New York. The enemy supplies Soviet‑built fighters such as the MiG‑27 and MiG‑29, which you can capture and use to push the war effort forward. If your plane crashes or you are killed, the flags at the UN are lowered to half‑staff and a somber rendition of "Taps" plays as the world mourns the fallen aviator. The game’s narrative hinges on this cycle of victory, flag‑raising, and the stark reminder of loss.
