Summary

Super R.B.I. Baseball marks the series’ debut on the Super Nintendo, packing a roster of roughly 700 MLBPA players across all 28 clubs and the full 1994 line‑up. Because it lacks an official MLB license, team nicknames disappear and the colors are tweaked, giving each squad a slightly off‑beat look.

The game offers six distinct modes: a straightforward Exhibition, a Home Run Derby, a Defense Practice, a Playoffs run, a League mode that pits you against every team in succession, and the quirky Game Breaker where you tackle 17 preset scenarios. You can also pick historic Division Champion line‑ups from 1989‑1993 or All‑Star rosters spanning 1989‑1994, adding a nostalgic flavor.

Visually, the graphics are cartoonish yet the stadiums feel authentic, albeit altered enough to avoid direct copies. There’s no battery save, but series championships are stored via passwords, and Jack Buck’s voice provides the play‑by‑play commentary, which still makes me grin whenever I hear his iconic calls.
