Summary

Super Metroid Redux is a fan‑made overhaul that builds on the earlier GBA Style hack, bringing a host of graphical and gameplay refinements to the classic SNES adventure. Elevator and door transitions zip along at double speed, while the pause screen now shows both elapsed game time and item‑percentage, giving a smoother pacing for modern players. Weapon handling feels tighter: you can select beams more intuitively, charge a beam and fire a combo with Select, and the Screw Attack even shatters frozen foes; the X‑Ray Visor’s range is widened and the classic diagonal aiming from Zero Mission returns. Recharge stations replace missile pods, refilling missiles, super missiles and power bombs in one touch, and power bombs now expose hidden tiles just like in Zero Mission. The map has been overhauled with colour‑coded doors, item circles and a clearer layout, while optional widescreen support and MSU‑1 audio integration polish the visual and sound experience.
