Summary

Super Alfred Chicken takes the classic platform formula and stretches it across a series of whimsically themed stages. Each level ends either with a climb to the ceiling or a showdown with a boss, and the path to the exit often hinges on solving positional puzzles hidden in the scenery. Alfred’s moves feel surprisingly versatile: he can walk, jump, peck balloons and ground switches, dive‑bomb enemies or springs, and unleash quirky power‑ups like a bouncing jam‑bomb or a worm that spins around him. Secret rooms are accessed by answering hidden telephones, rewarding the player with a pot of jam from Mr. Pekles for the bomb ability, while a tucked‑away can of worms grants the worm upgrade. Bonus mini‑games pepper the adventure, encouraging exploration beyond the main route. Despite its charm and inventive level design, the SNES version received only mediocre reviews, a reminder that even a quirky chicken can’t always hatch a perfect game.

Storyline

In Super Alfred Chicken (often just called Alfred Chicken), the plucky poultry hero sets out on a daring rescue mission. Alfred must save his captured friends and his beloved bird Floella from the clutches of the hostile Meka Chickens. The game follows his frantic dash through quirky levels as he battles the mechanical foes to reunite with his companions.
