Summary

Spider-Man: The Animated Series on the SNES drops you into a side‑scrolling adventure that feels more like a puzzle than a pure brawler. You swing through six distinct stages—starting in a lab, then a construction site, across the Brooklyn Bridge, through Coney Island, into J. Jonah Jameson’s penthouse, and finally the eerie halls of Ravencroft Asylum—each packed with hidden rooms and surprise cameos from Marvel foes like the Lizard. Your toolkit is classic: web‑spinning, a few kicks and punches, but the combat feels deliberately light, pushing you to think about positioning and timing rather than button‑mashing. Reviewers noted the limited enemy variety and modest fighting skills, calling it a solid fit for intermediate players who enjoy a bit of strategy alongside the swing‑and‑shoot action.

Storyline

In the SNES side‑scrolling adventure Spider‑Man, the plot kicks off when three of Peter Parker’s most notorious foes break out of prison. Dr. Octopus, the Green Goblin and J. Jonah Smythe are on the loose, and the game’s intro even challenges you to “kick their butts.” As Spider‑Man you swing through New York’s rooftops and streets, hunting each escaped villain across a series of levels. Along the way the city is swarming with a variety of robotic enemies, from tiny drones to hulking metal behemoths, each requiring a different approach. The mission is simple: track down the three criminals and put an end to their chaotic plans.
