Summary

Playing Scooby‑Doo Mystery on the SNES feels like stepping straight into a cartoon episode. Each of the four chapters—Drabwell Ranch, Deadman’s Cove, a spooky fun‑fair, and a haunted mansion—starts with a classic Mystery Machine cutscene and a password for later returns. I guide Shaggy while Scooby sniffs hidden clues, munches snacks to calm the fright meter, and dodges hazards that would otherwise fill it up. Velma logs every find, turning clue points into the items Fred needs to build traps for the monster lurking in each locale.

The game sprinkles in quirky mini‑games: in kitchen segments Scooby slides side‑to‑side catching ingredients for an ever‑growing sandwich, while the random “Whac‑A‑Monster” stage pits Shaggy against waves of ghostly foes on three vases. Success racks up mystery points, and reaching ten thousand gifts an extra life. The bright graphics faithfully mimic the Hanna‑Barbera look, making every spooky setup both nostalgic and fresh.

Storyline

In Scooby‑Doo Mystery for the SNES, the Mystery Inc. crew splits up to investigate four eerie locations, each hiding a very human culprit behind a supernatural disguise.
At the Red Ryan ship, a phantom pirate called One‑Eyed Matt haunts the deck, but the gang soon uncovers his true goal: stealing treasure from nearby sunken vessels to melt down and sell the loot.
The Fun Fair’s Haunted Amusement Park is plagued by an Evil Clown who pretends to close the park out of revenge for being fired as the janitor, while his real plan is to force the owners to sell the property cheap.
In the murky Spooky Swamp, the Tar Monster scares away ranchers so a schemer can buy the land cheaply and profit from the valuable minerals hidden beneath.
Finally, at Bradshaw Manor, Daphne’s uncle’s mansion is “haunted” by Count Bagosi, a vampire‑themed crook protecting a counterfeit‑printing operation by frightening away any curious neighbors.
