Sailormoon Play Online 🪙 SNES Games in Browser

Summary

Sailor Moon (often called Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon on the SNES) plays like a classic side‑scrolling beat ’em up, but with a twist: you pick one of the five original Sailor Soldiers and mash buttons for punches, kicks, throws and a chargeable special that wipes the screen clean. The developers leaned on pro‑wrestling magazines for those flashy attacks, so the combat feels more physical than magical, even though the series is known for its sparkle. Behind the scenes, Angel’s team brought in the anime’s own artists—Kazuko Tadano handled the cover and character poses, Yukihiro Kitano turned hand‑drawn animation into pixel art, and Takanori Arisawa supplied a soundtrack that mirrors the TV show’s music, albeit stretched to fit the action. Voice clips from the original seiyūs were squeezed in, which forced the game to cut simultaneous spoken attacks and limit co‑op chatter. Critics were split: the graphics and faithful anime vibe earned praise, but reviewers noted the sluggish pacing, repetitive moves and a thin enemy roster, often calling it a Final Fight look‑alike that leans heavily on its licensed name.

Storyline

In Sailor Moon for the SNES, players take the role of Usagi Tsukino – Sailor Moon – or one of the other four Inner Sailor Guardians. The team must travel across multiple locations on Earth, battling the forces of the Dark Kingdom, an evil empire that uses monsters to invade human spirits and drain their life energy. Their ultimate goal is to stop Queen Beryl, who once shattered the ancient Moon Kingdom, from stealing the Silver Crystal and freeing the imprisoned Queen Metaria. The Dark Kingdom’s base is said to be at Point D on the Arctic Circle, and its plot threatens to plunge the planet into chaos by capturing the crystal’s power. By confronting these enemies, the Sailor Guardians protect humanity’s life force and keep the world safe from darkness.
