Play Ryuuko no Ken 2 Online

Summary

Art of Fighting 2 (known in Japan as Dragon & Tiger Fist 2) lands on the Super Nintendo with a full roster of twelve fighters, bringing back Ryo Sakazaki and Robert Garcia while adding newcomers Yuri Sakazaki, Eiji Kisaragi and Temjin. The game expands the single‑player mode so every character can enter the King of Fighters tournament, and a secret showdown with Geese Howard appears if you meet the hidden requirements—though he stays unplayable except in the SNES versus mode.

A standout mechanic is the Rage Gauge, a reimagined version of the original spirit system that caps how often you can unleash special attacks. Bonus stages have been overhauled: one punch can fell a tree to boost the gauge, a timed brawl against street punks raises your health, and each fighter gets a personalized Super Death Blow challenge.

Unfortunately, the SNES conversion earned a harsh reputation. Critics slammed the port for mangled visuals, clunky controls and physics that feel almost unrecognizable compared to the arcade original, turning what could have been a nostalgic showcase into a disappointing experience.

Storyline

Art of Fighting 2 (Ryuuko no Ken 2) picks up a year after the first game, in 1979. The cliff‑hanger ending sees Yuri Sakazaki stopping her brother Ryo from striking their masked father, who is secretly working for the mafia kingpin Geese Howard. Learning they were manipulated by Geese, the Sakazaki family swears revenge and answers his summons for a twelve‑fighter "King of Fighters" tournament in South Town. Ryo, Yuri, Robert Garcia and other veterans enter the contest, defeat Mr. Big once more, and Ryo finally confronts Geese, who escapes after being beaten. The story ties the Art of Fighting saga directly into the Fatal Fury universe, revealing that the original game’s final boss, Mr. Karate, was actually Takuma Sakazaki, the brothers’ father, coerced by Geese, and that Mr. Big had originally kidnapped Yuri.
