Summary

The SNES version of Pac‑ManĀ 2: The New Adventures hides a nostalgic surprise – the classic Pac‑Man arcade title appears as a bonus mode, complete with slightly refreshed graphics and its own high‑score table. It never saw a standalone cartridge, making it a quirky extra for anyone who digs through the game’s menu.
Unlike the maze‑chasing roots of the series, this entry turns Pac‑Man into a point‑and‑click hero who wanders at his own pace. Players wield a slingshot to nudge him toward objects, feed him apples to lift his mood, or even prod him when he’s down, shaping how cooperative he becomes. Mood‑based puzzles blend humor with challenge, and occasional chase segments thrust him into hang‑glider or mine‑cart runs that demand quick reflexes.
Scattered throughout the adventure are three hidden cartridges; finding them unlocks a playable Ms. Pac‑Man session, while a visit to an in‑game arcade lets you fire up the original Pac‑Man. Critics praised its innovation – Famitsu gave it strong scores and GamePro noted the fresh, if sometimes frustrating, control scheme.

Storyline

After a brief intro where Pac‑Man explains the controls, the SNES title launches into a series of loosely linked misadventures. First he must fetch milk for Pac‑Baby from a nearby farm, then Ms. Pac‑Man asks him to pick a special flower for Lucy’s birthday, sending him on a trolley‑ticket ride through mountains where he hang‑glides, dodges ghosts and boulders, and returns too late for the party. Later Pac‑Jr arrives home upset because ghosts stole his guitar in Pac‑City; Pac‑Man receives a train ticket, disguises himself as a security guard, and recovers the instrument. The final segment begins with a news report that ghosts are stealing children’s ABC gum, after which the Ghost Witch of Netor hijacks the broadcast and summons a Gum Monster. Pac‑Man battles through an abandoned factory, confronts the Witch’s hideout, and as Super Pac‑Man defeats the monster, the Witch’s minions flee. Though the gum is lost, the town and his family hail Pac‑Man as a hero.
