Summary

NBA Give 'n Go drops you into a vertical‑court view that feels like stepping onto an arcade screen, but with the full 1995 NBA roster at your fingertips. The sprites are huge and the animation smooth, letting you pull off alley‑oops and high‑flying dunks while a play‑by‑play announcer shouts in the style of NBA Jam. Each player is rated on a three‑star scale, though the line‑up is missing Shaquille O'Neal, Charles Barkley and Michael Jordan, the latter having retired before the game’s release.

The camera sits at one end of the court, so the action rushes toward you, and the clock ticks faster than a real game. Fouls are limited and automatically trigger a free‑throw mini‑game where you line up two blue dots to guarantee a score; otherwise the shot misses. Balls rarely go out of bounds, keeping the pace relentless.

You can dive into exhibition, regular‑season, playoff or arcade modes, even customizing rules for a more simulation‑like feel. Playoff mode lets you replay the 1995 NBA playoffs, randomize the bracket, or craft your own tree, though you can only swap players before a game starts. The American version saves progress with passwords, while the Japanese release uses a battery save and was localized by Jeremy Blaustein.
