Summary
Natsume Championship Wrestling packs more than fifty distinct moves—Cobra Twist, Pyle Driver, DDT, Kitchen Sink, Guillotine Drop and many more—giving each of the twelve selectable wrestlers a surprisingly deep repertoire. The game offers five match types: Championship Tournament, Round Robin, Championship Tag Match, Exhibition Match, and Round‑Robin Tag Match, each with a ten‑minute time limit per bout. Victory screens display both competitors’ taunts, the match clock, and the exact condition that ended the fight, adding a nice touch of drama. Although the North American release carries no official promotion branding, it’s essentially a re‑worked version of the Japanese Super Famicom title Zen‑Nippon Pro Wrestling Dash: Sekai Saikyō Tag, which was licensed by All Japan Pro Wrestling. The unlicensed approach lets the game focus on pure wrestling mechanics rather than celebrity gimmicks, and it even resurfaced on Nintendo’s Classics service in July 2020 for modern players to rediscover. Combat is governed by six colored energy bars—from blue down to black—so you can gauge stamina at a glance, and a limited healing option lets you recover before the damage becomes crippling. The AI adapts to your style, and the Championship Tournament can be set to easy, medium, or hard, ensuring a challenge for both newcomers and veterans. Severe injuries also lengthen recovery time, making strategic pacing essential.
