Summary

Metal Warriors feels like a playground for mech‑obsessed retro fans. The game lets you hop between six distinct assault suits—Nitro, Havoc, Prometheus, Spider, Ballistic and Drache—each with its own melee weapon and a unique mechanic that forces you to rethink how you tackle a level. Power‑ups attach to a backpack mount, turning a simple gun into a rocket launcher, grenade launcher, mine layer or even a gravity inverter, while damage visibly scars the suit and can shut down those upgrades if you take too much fire.

When a suit is on the brink of destruction you can eject and control Stone, a lone marine equipped with a weak pistol and a jetpack that mimics the Nitro’s flight but at a slower pace. Outside a mech you can slip through tight corridors, flip switches, or even be stolen by enemy soldiers, making every decision a high‑stakes gamble. The lack of a traditional HUD means you read the battlefield directly from the suits’ condition and Stone’s health bar.

Beyond the single‑player campaign, the split‑screen deathmatch pits two players against each other in a frantic mech‑brawl, adding a competitive edge that keeps the action fresh long after the story’s over.

Storyline

Metal Warriors is set in the year 2102, when the United Earth Government is under siege by the Dark Axis military force led by the dictator Venkar Amon, who has been waging a three‑year war on Earth. A small freedom‑fighting group equipped with robotic combat suits is humanity’s last line of defense, and the player assumes the role of Lieutenant Stone. The campaign opens in space, where Stone must rescue agent Marissa from Axis 5, capture an enemy supply ship and seize a heavily guarded asteroid base to secure vital resources. The success earns him a promotion to captain, but it also draws a fierce Axis retaliation that forces Stone and his crew to defend their main ship using stolen Prometheus units. Later missions send the team to Alaska to disable an anti‑spacecraft cannon, to a Chilean jungle to steal the experimental flying Drache, through the bombed‑out city of Dorado, and into subterranean mining installations to retrieve a command key. The final push takes them to the Axis command center, where a super‑weapon is under construction. In a climactic battle of fully mobile flying armored suits, Stone defeats Venkar Amon, who perishes while trying to escape in a hijacked Nitro suit. Stone escapes the exploding base, his Nitro suit wrecked, marking the end of the Dark Axis threat.
