Summary

Metal Marines (released as Militia in Japan) throws you into an isometric war‑room where you juggle logistics and fire‑power across a chain of islands. You set up three buried command bases, and losing them ends the battle, so protecting those hubs is as critical as pushing your own troops forward.

Building and upgrading a sprawling array of structures—energy plants, factories, supply HQs, radar stations, anti‑air batteries, mine fields, gun pods and even ICBM silos—feeds the economy and fuels the attacks. Missiles and ICBMs demand huge energy costs but wipe out large swaths of enemy land, while metal Marines themselves behave autonomously, auto‑firing rifles or melee strikes, yet you can nudge a few to steer their direction.

Decoys add a sly layer: dummy bases and dummy units masquerade as real assets, drawing fire away from the real command posts. In short, the game blends real‑time strategy, resource management and tactical positioning, rewarding players who can balance relentless offense with careful defense.

Storyline

Metal Marines drops you into the year 2117, just two years after the Antimatter War devastated the galaxy. You command the Space Colonies Allied Forces (SCAF), a coalition of independent colonies, and pilot the towering 16‑meter, 93‑ton Metal Marine mecha. The Earth is under the iron grip of Zorguef’s empire, and your objective is to push the fight onto the planet, rescue the oppressed human population, and secure a future for the colonies. The campaign spans twenty missions, each one gradually reclaiming territories until Zorguef’s forces crumble. Gameplay switches between an isometric view for base construction and an aerial grid for planning assaults, giving the experience a distinct tactical flavor.
