Summary
Lemmings on the Super NES delivers a mind‑bending puzzle experience where you shepherd a horde of green‑haired, blue‑robed critters through increasingly tricky terrain. Each level drops a steady stream of lemmings from trap doors, and you must rescue a set percentage by assigning a limited pool of eight skills—Climbers, Floaters, Bombers, Blockers, Builders, Bashers, Miners and Diggers—to the right individuals in real time. The landscape is a mix of destructible rocks, indestructible steel, chasms, lava pools and booby traps, forcing you to carve safe passages or build stairways on the fly.
The game groups its stages into four difficulty tiers—Fun, Tricky, Taxing and Mayhem—each raising the stakes with tighter time limits, fewer skill allocations and more demanding release rates. If you ever hit a dead end, you can "nuke" the remaining lemmings, turning them into Bombers to clear obstacles or simply end the level. This blend of frantic timing and strategic planning makes Lemmings a timeless platform puzzler that still feels fresh on the SNES.
