Summary

Kessen! Dokapon Okukoku IV: Densetsu no Yuusha-tachi (often shortened to Kessen! Dokapon IV) is a quirky RPG that landed on the Super NES in Japan back in 1993. Published by Asmik Ace Entertainment, the game blends turn‑based battles with a light‑hearted fantasy setting, letting players guide a ragtag band of heroes through a series of whimsical quests.

What makes the title stand out is its playful take on classic role‑playing conventions: stats are expressed in bright, cartoonish icons, and the combat system rewards both strategy and a sense of humor. Even though it never saw an official Western release, the game’s charm has kept it circulating among retro‑gaming circles, where collectors appreciate its distinctive art style and the way it captures the early‑90s SNES vibe.
