Play Jissen! Mahjong Shinan Online

Summary

I first ran into Jissen! Mahjong Shinan while digging through a list of off‑beat SNES releases, and the name alone hinted at something more playful than a straight mahjong simulator. The game mixes the familiar tile‑matching mechanics with a light‑hearted narrative that feels like a hidden side‑quest tucked inside a typical console library.

Developed by the modest studio Syscom and put out by ASK, this 1995 Japan‑only title never saw an official Western launch, which explains why it’s a favorite among collectors who love hunting down obscure gems. Its quirky presentation and the way it treats mahjong as a backdrop for quirky challenges make it a memorable footnote in the era’s otherwise crowded lineup.
