Summary

Idea no Hi on the SNES stands out thanks to its manga roots – the story and character designs were crafted by Koji Aihara, a well‑known manga artist. Aihara’s distinctive style gives the game a visual flair that feels more like a comic panel than a typical 16‑bit adventure, and his narrative sensibility shines through the quirky dialogue and expressive sprites. Even without diving into the plot, you can tell the game carries the same playful energy you’d expect from his illustrations. It’s a neat example of how a manga creator can shape a video‑game’s personality from the ground up.

Storyline

In Idea no Hi, you play as a young boy gifted with psychic abilities who is abducted by a shadowy organization. They subject him to brutal experiments, even killing his loyal dog to force him to unleash his full power.

The boy’s rage shatters the testing chamber, killing the scientists inside while the mastermind, Dr. Poe, escapes. A dying researcher whispers the name “Lady Edea,” and a hidden fax points to a research outpost on Easter Island.

Driven by revenge and mystery, the protagonist journeys across a bleak, dystopian landscape, gathering allies and uncovering the truth behind the sinister project.
