Summary

The Hurricanes turns the soccer ball into a surprisingly versatile weapon. You’ll find yourself swinging across rope‑lined platforms, timing jumps with pixel‑perfect precision, and dodging a variety of hidden traps that pop up as you chase down opponents. The game’s level design feels like a blend of classic platforming and a quirky sports showdown, keeping the action fresh as you sprint forward.

One of the quirkiest mechanics is how the ball clings to your foot, even while you’re mid‑air. It only releases when you deliberately kick it, and if it ever hits an obstacle or gets lost, it instantly reappears at your side. You can even flick the ball upward while jumping, adding a playful layer of strategy to every encounter.

Storyline

The Hurricanes, the beloved team from the children’s TV cartoon, are the most revered squad in the World Soccer League. In the SNES game The Hurricanes you take control of one of their star players and race against time to get the team to the stadium. The rival Gorgons are desperate to beat them and have turned the route into a gauntlet of jungle, mines and an ancient temple. You must trek through each hazardous area, overcoming obstacles and enemies, to ensure the Hurricanes arrive on schedule and keep their championship hopes alive.
