Summary
The Great Waldo Search brings the classic Where’s Waldo puzzles to the SNES, using the third book’s artwork as a backdrop for a scrolling, slightly animated hunt. You steer a magnifying glass across six‑screen panoramas, clicking on clocks to add time, on 150‑point icons for score boosts, and on a hidden scroll that marks the stage’s completion—Waldo must be spotted first.
The game is split into five themed stages: The Carpet Flyers, The Underground Hunters, The Battling Monks, The Unfriendly Giants, and the final Land of Waldos. Normal and Expert modes change only the availability of clock items; Expert removes them, making every second count.
A quirky bonus appears when you locate Woof, Waldo’s dog, in any stage except the Land of Waldos. Finding him launches a short flying‑carpet minigame where you guide Woof to collect extra points before returning to the main search.
