Summary
GP-1 puts you on the seat of a Grand Prix motorcycle, pitting your skills against a field of fifteen riders across thirteen real‑world circuits pulled straight from the 1992 season.
In Exhibition you can race head‑to‑head with a friend, while the Season mode lets you grind for money to upgrade one of six selectable bikes and tweak its engine, suspension, and chassis for peak performance.
Even though the engineers you hire share the same stats, their personalities mesh with different riding styles, adding a subtle strategic layer to the fine‑tuning process that can mean the difference between a clean apex and a wipeout.
The soundtrack, composed by Masanao Akahori, delivers an early‑90s arcade feel, and despite mixed reviews—Super Play gave it 62 % while GamePro scored it 4/5—the title remains a solid, if under‑appreciated, showcase of SNES racing.
