Summary

GP-1: Rapid Stream (often just called GP-1 Part II) builds on its predecessor with a clear focus on pure bike handling. You steer through three distinct modes – a career‑style GP Race, a Time Attack against the clock, and a two‑player Vs Battle where the AI steps aside, letting you and a friend duke it out.

The Japanese cartridge saves progress with a battery, while the North American version swaps that for a password system, a quirky nod to regional preferences. In the GP Race mode you first qualify on four local tracks before diving into the full 1994 Grand Prix calendar, all 14 real‑world circuits, with a modest selection of six bikes that you can upgrade using cash earned from wins or optional bets with rival racers.

Despite these additions, contemporary reviews noted that the game lost many of the quirks that made the original stand out, landing it as a competent but unremarkable entry in the crowded SNES racing scene.
