Summary
Gekitotsu Dangan Jidousha Kessen: Battle Mobile (often just called Battle Mobile) is a quirky hybrid that fuses the frantic pace of a vertical shoot‑'em‑up with the head‑on thrills of a racing game. Instead of blasting everything from a distance, the most effective tactic is to barrel straight into on‑screen foes, turning each collision into a satisfying payoff. When enemies fly out of reach—think hovering helicopters—you’ll need to switch to missiles to finish them off.
Released exclusively for the Super Famicom by System Sacom, the title never made it outside Japan, which explains why many retro fans only glimpse it through import collections. Its blend of high‑speed driving and arcade‑style combat makes it a hidden gem for anyone who loves unconventional, adrenaline‑pumping console experiences.
Storyline
The game Gekitotsu Dangan Jidousha Kessen – also known as Battle Mobile – opens with a newlywed couple traveling on a desolate highway. They are ambushed by Mad Max‑style bandits, and the wife is killed in the attack.
Fueled by grief, the husband spends the next year converting a sleek sports car into a high‑tech combat vehicle. He equips it with weapons and armor, turning the car into a mobile war machine.
Determined to avenge his wife, he sets out to hunt down the bandits and make them pay.
