Summary
Final Fight 3 (known in Japan as Final Fight Tough) pushes the classic beat‑‘em‑up formula onto the Super Nintendo with a fresh roster and new tactics. Players can pick Guy, the hulking mayor Mike Haggar, or the newcomers Lucia and Dean, each bringing exclusive moves, a favorite weapon and a personal Super Move that charges through a dedicated gauge. The game spreads the action over six stages that split into multiple routes, so the enemies, environments and bosses shift depending on your choices, leading to varied endings. Two‑player side‑by‑side combat stays intact, and a handy auto‑2‑player mode drops a CPU partner on your shoulder for solo runs.
New mechanics like dash attacks, back‑grabs and lock‑direction jumps keep the pacing brisk, while breakable drums hide food and power‑ups. Each character’s special techniques borrow the command‑style feel of Street Fighter, giving the combo‑oriented crowd something to brag about. The branching level design and multiple endings give replay value beyond the classic brawler beat, making this the most expansive Final Fight on the SNES.
Storyline
After the Mad Gear Gang is wiped out, a fresh threat rises: the Skull Cross Gang takes over Metro City’s underworld. Guy, fresh from his martial‑arts training, returns home and meets up with his old buddy Mike Haggar, the city’s mayor. The two are quickly warned that the Skull Cross gang has sparked a downtown riot. They’re soon joined by Lucia, a detective from the Metro City Police Special Crimes Unit, and Dean, a street fighter whose family fell victim to the Skull Cross. Together, Guy, Haggar, Lucia and Dean battle through the chaos to once again protect Metro City from its newest menace.
