Storyline

In EMIT Vol. 3: Watashi ni Sayonara wo, the tension spikes when Ichirou and Yuri’s mother begin to suspect a doppelganger has taken over Yuri’s life. In Yuri’s original world, Julia has been living as Yuri, staying youthful while the real Yuri ages in Julia’s world. Ichirou, convinced the second Yuri he met is the genuine article, shares his doubts with Yuri’s mother, who has noticed the same oddities.

Yuri is wounded by a stray shot to the shoulder and collapses on a sofa, only to be confronted by Julia brandishing a knife. Julia attempts to stab Yuri’s face, but Yuri dodges and tries to reason, mentioning Ken’s concern. Before Ichirou and the mother can intervene, Julia flees. Ichirou, still mistaking Yuri for Julia, grabs her injured arm, stops when she cries out, and asks if she’s the real Yuri—her furious reaction convinces him.

Days later, Yuri recovers fully and returns to her proper age. Ken retrieves his mother, who, now aging again, appears as a small girl. The group parts amicably, though Julia hesitates to leave Ichirou.
