Summary

The 7th Saga – known as Elnard in Japan – is a turn‑based RPG that still feels fresh on the SNES. Its graphics are eye‑popping and almost surreal, while the soundtrack pushes you to crank the volume instead of muting it.

Unlike many fantasy titles of its era, the game lets you slot in your own name and presents a cast of six distinct allies rather than a generic party of elves. The characters feel like real people, each with their own quirks, and the battle system leans heavily on strategy instead of button‑mashing.

What really sets it apart is the sheer variety of foes – an army of bizarre monsters that can make the hair on the back of your neck stand up. The challenge is relentless, but the rewarding sense of progress keeps you hooked long after the last boss falls.

Storyline

Elnard follows a hero on a quest to locate the seven Sacred Runes. Whoever gathers all seven gains the power to rule the world.
