Edo no Kiba keeps you constantly pushing forward, whether you’re sprinting, strolling, or even soaring through a few airborne stages. Despite the relentless forward motion, you can still drift side‑to‑side like a classic belt‑scroller, giving the level a surprisingly fluid feel.

My avatar wields an energy sword that slices to the right, and by holding it defensively I can bounce back certain projectiles. A quick forward‑plus‑attack tosses the blade like a boomerang, while a jump lets me dodge tricky patterns. A loyal bomb hovers nearby on foot levels, ready to wipe out every enemy on screen, and it respawns automatically after each death.

The game tosses you through gritty city streets, dank sewers, and even a massive flying battleship, each ending in a hefty boss that can take a barrage of attacks before finally falling.

Storyline

In Edono Kiba, the action unfolds in Tokyo in the year 2050. Terrorists have taken over the streets, and the only hope is a lone armored police officer who races through the city to bring them down.
