Summary

Dragon Ball Z: Super Butōden 3 (often just called Super Butōden 3) builds on its predecessors as a classic one‑on‑one fighter that feels a lot like Street Fighter II. The game uses a six‑button layout for punches, kicks and special attacks, and lets you dash left or right with the L and R buttons while charging Ki by holding Y and B for powerful blasts or counters.

Two play styles are available – a simple versus match and a tournament mode – but, unlike Super Butōden 2, there’s no dedicated story mode. The split‑screen system keeps distant fighters visible, aided by a radar, and the control scheme is fully customizable for combos and meteor attacks.

The roster features nine characters and their transformations, from Goku and Gohan to Majin Buu and Dabura, with an extra fighter unlockable via a cheat code. Some promotional material even billed the title as “Ultimate threat Super! Dragon Ball Z3,” touting three new characters and imagined upgrades like dual‑screen play and a turbo mode.

Storyline

Dragon Ball Z – Super Butouden 3 drops you back into the Dragon Z universe, picking up right after the Majin Buu saga. The game thrusts players once again into the familiar world, continuing the story beyond the Buu arc.
