Summary

Dokapon Gaiden - Honoo no Audition is a quirky spin‑off that landed on the Super Famicom and the Satellaview in 1995. Developed by the little‑known studio Earthly Soft and published by Asmik Ace Entertainment, the game carries the full Japanese title ドカポン外伝 炎のオーディション, which translates to “Dokapon Side Story: Fiery Audition.”

Even though it never saw an official Western release, the title’s blend of role‑playing mechanics and the series’ trademark humor makes it a hidden gem for collectors. I love how the subtitle hints at a hotter, more flamboyant take on the usual Dokapon formula, and the Satellaview version even added a broadcast‑style twist that only Japanese players experienced.
