Summary

Dirt Trax FX lets you pick from eight riders, each with their own quirks, and match them with one of four bikes that span from a modest 50cc to a roaring 500cc. The game throws you onto 22 distinct tracks, and you can crank the challenge up through four difficulty settings, which keeps the races feeling fresh even after many laps. What really makes the SNES version stand out is the Super FX‑powered GSU‑1 chip baked into the cartridge – it renders the 3D environments that were otherwise impossible on the console. You can also hook up a friend for split‑screen action, letting two players battle side‑by‑side in real time. Critics at the time gave the title generally favorable scores, with publications like GameFan and Official Nintendo Magazine rating it in the high 80s and 90s, and the rights later landed in the hands of Liquid Media Group in 2018.
