Summary
Dennis the Menace on SNES is a colorful platformer that pulls its vibe from the early‑90s family film, itself a cartoon‑strip spin‑off. You guide Dennis Mitchell across four distinct stages, from Mr. Wilson's house to a boiler room, hunting five oversized coins in each level. The HUD shows a set of hearts, dwindling when enemies connect, while candy boosts refills health instantly. A strict 999‑second timer presses you to keep moving; the clock isn’t reset by losing a life, making every second count. The final showdown pits you against the film’s crook, Switchblade Sam. Critics were split—Electronic Gaming Monthly gave it a modest 5.6/10, complaining the hero felt lifeless, whereas Super Gamer praised the vibrant graphics and challenging design with a 74% rating.
Storyline
In the SNES platformer Dennis the Menace, Dennis Mitchell finds his neighborhood turned upside‑down when the sneaky burglar Switchblade Sam steals Mr. Wilson’s prized coin collection and kidnaps his friends Joey and Margaret. Determined to set things right, Dennis dashes through colorful streets, dodging traps and battling Sam’s goons. Each level brings him closer to rescuing Joey and Margaret while reclaiming the missing coins. The game’s quirky plot blends classic mischief with a light‑hearted rescue mission.
