Summary

ClockWerx drops you into a minimalist grid where a single rotating wand is your only tool. With just four keys you can reverse its spin, bounce off a nearby dot, jump to another dot, or do both at once, turning each level into a rhythmic puzzle of timing and geometry.

Enemy wands trace fixed patterns, but because they spin at the same speed you can slip past them by staying on the opposite side of a shared dot. Later stages throw in doors that open when you trigger a switch, hyperdots that teleport you across the board, and trailing acid drops that chase your wand, forcing you to plan several moves ahead.

The game originally launched as Spin Doctor before Spectrum HoloByte re‑branded it as ClockWerx, even featuring an endorsement from Alexey Pajitnov on the title screen. Japanese releases added quirky clay‑animation characters, and critics praised its addictive simplicity—Next Generation gave the Mac version four out of five stars, noting it will keep you up late, while Computer Game Review urged players not to toss their Tetris just yet.
