Summary

CB Chara Wars (sometimes just called CB Chara Wars) is a fast‑paced action title that landed on the Super Nintendo in Japan back in 1992. Developed by Almanic Corp. and published by Banpresto, the game packs a surprisingly lively roster of characters into the 16‑bit hardware, delivering a burst of chaotic combat that feels oddly fresh even by today’s standards.

What makes the game stand out for me is its unapologetically quirky aesthetic – the sprites are bold, the stages feel like a mash‑up of arcade absurdity, and the controls are tight enough to keep the mayhem feeling rewarding. It never broke into the Western market, so discovering it feels like unearthing a hidden gem from the era’s bustling Japanese scene, and that rarity adds a layer of excitement every time I fire up the cartridge.
